Why do I still do this?
Who inspires you?
I’m inspired by a whole host of people. My kids are at the top of the list, along with random everyday people who overcome crazy challenges & obstacles to reach their goals. You don’t need to be famous to be an inspiration.
What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about a lot of things. Ravens football, O’s baseball, Terps hoops, Towson Rugby, great food – but what drives me at work is helping people figure out who they are financially & reach the goals that matter to them. Little bits of progress over a long period of time is pretty cool to watch happen, knowing that I played a small role in helping that progress happen.
What's the craziest thing you've ever done?
There’s a pretty long list here because I grew up in the era of Evel Kneivel and was a bit of a daredevil. I did a lot of jumping over things on bikes & dirtbikes (with lots of spectacular crashes), skateboarding on half pipes (again, spectacular crashes) and have played rugby for a few decades now. But…on my birthday one year recently, my son and I jumped out of a perfectly good airplane in the middle of an eclipse. We wanted to be a bit closer to the eclipse, so we timed our jump to be at the peak of it.
Where's your favorite place in the world?
Anywhere that I can be in or incredibly close to water. Whether it’s a lake, river, bay or ocean…..I get twitchy if I’m too far away from the water. On a regular basis, I like to be out on a boat in the Chesapeake Bay – so I’ll go with the bay as my current favorite place.
